Reba Aghchay is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bars of the Supreme Court of the United States and the District Court for the Central District of California. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Immigration Section.
Reba was introduced to international issues early on. Born in Tehran, Iran, to an ethnic Azeri family, she grew up speaking Farsi and Azeri. She left Iran at a very young age and she has lived in Turkey, Spain and Canada before moving to the United States. Fluent in English, Farsi and Azeri, she is also proficient in French, Turkish and Spanish.
She designed and taught college-level courses in Farsi at the University of Iowa. While a law student, she was awarded a scholarship to spend a term in Turkey working on child labor issues and the treatment of political prisoners.
Reba is helping a number of foreign business entities find creative solutions to their immigration needs, in particular with regard to the Regional Centers EB-5 program. She also handles complex deportation cases in Immigration Court.
